The Professional College of Dental Hygienists of Madrid, Spain, has approved the use of SDF as a non-invasive treatment to stop and prevent cavities

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a non-invasive treatment with cariostatic, remineralizing and bactericidal properties. Recently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, it is used to treat hypersensitive teeth. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) endorses the use of SDF for the caries process in primary teeth with a 70% success rate, but continued evaluation and consideration of other long-term treatment options is recommended.
